Each Training course follows a very elaborate and proven energy choeography to guide and accompany you through a beautiful and challenging process of personal exploration and experience.
Since everything in this world is in constant flow it is important to us that there are never two trainings that are exactly the same. Therefore, we are always switching some of the teachers and practices from training to training in order to create a unique, intrigiuing and fresh program.
Teachers present in each course
And no matter if you choose a 200, 300 or 500 hours course you will find yourself in a very holistic, balanced and well rounded experience
- Check out here: Differences between the 200, 300 and 500 hours trainings
- Important note: 300hrs/500hrs Floating Week
As we close one circle with 200 hours students after 4 weeks of the training we enter into a integration week. This week is to process all that has come to surface in the weeks before.
We will maintain a daily yoga practice and have special classes and surprises. As the 300 and 500 hour students will be moving into the next phase of the training this is a time to experiment with being a teacher and finding your own rhythm of holding space. There will be opportunities to guide meditation, leading classes and provide guidance for the new 200 hrs students entering.
Each teacher training group consists of a maximum of 25 students in order to keep the group personal and to be able to offer full support and attention to each student.
- The 21 Day Experience: During April, May and September we offer you the chance to experience our 3 weeks intensive teacher training.

The main practices
“I experienced the mixture of Yoga, Shamanism, Tantra and art as a slow and conscious walk through the forest. First you see the beauty, the stillness, but the longer you walk the more details you will see in every tree, you feel that it’s all vibrating full of life. At the end of the path you’ll see that a forest isn’t a bulk of trees, not a single tree next to another – it’s all interwoven, the connection between them is creating the forest.”
“The mixture was perfect and I felt it as a dance between parallel universes. I can’t imagine one without the other. Tantra Yoga allowed me to take an personal inner journey into my body and see the tantric weaving we do with the mind, body, and spirit is necessary to see our connections to others and the divine. I see that all these tools yoga, plants/shamanism are all tools to create the union and wholeness we seek in life.”
“The mixture of yoga, shamanism, Tantra, and art is absolutely beautiful to me. All the elements tie into each other and have really helped me learn what kind of a teacher I can be from my heart. I can be a better teacher to my students now that I know who I am.”
Kaula Tantra Yoga
- Different Morning Meditations
With the rising popularity of Yoga in the recent past many different styles and teachings have established themselves. So what does the Kaula Tantra Yoga practice offer you?
The sequence taught at our school comes straight from an ancient lineage and is based on the teachings of Bhagavan Shanmuka Anantha Natha. We work with asanas, bandhas, pranayama, mudras and mantras. Different to other practices this series is practiced in a slow and flowing manner to build patience and awareness. Each asana is held gently for a period of time to allow students to relax into the posture. This way, each individual finds their own unique way of expressing the asanas without pressure of competing or ‘performing perfectly’.
Tantra Yoga facilitators approach students as whole human beings and discourage ‘isolating’ or forcing muscles. Their priority is to hold a space of acceptance and love, with only little guidance where necessary.
Over time students learn to meditate in the postures to connect with the Divine. This yoga specifically cultures the diaphragms and thus balances every area of life, including sexuality.
Please note that classes do not involve nudity or sexual contact. In the advanced stages, deeper Pranayama practice, Bandhas, and Mantra practices are incorporated to culture Kundalini Energy.
Through Kundalini yoga, as taught by Yogi Bajhan, students learn another, different, approach to energy work in yoga. Students explore kryias, pranayama, chakra theory and the practice of kryas will be focused on different chakras each time to help students feeling them.
As we are living in Ecuador with a huge indigenous population, students also have the opportunity to learn about Andean culture, its cosmovision and its similarities with eastern culture. During the course, shamanistic energy concepts are explored together with the Tibetan tantric tradition. There are parallels in how these two different traditions understand energy, astrology, subtle anatomy and physiology. We are very proud to work together with different wonderful Shamans from Ecuador.
Intuitive anatomy and physiology
We will approach the vision and methodology of the Kaula Tantra yoga practice in these classes. We will develop a connection with our inner body intelligence, learn how to read it better and act according to it’s current needs. It’s about the combined powers of the mind and the physical body and the effect of being totally in harmony with the messages we perceive form our bodies in each moment.
Durga’s Tiger Dance
Durga’s Tiger Dance is a form of movement developed by Iris Disse based on yoga energy work and different dance styles. It is yet another form through which students deepen their creativity and relaxation in body movement. The training also involves voice work and mantra chanting.
Applied Tantric Wisdom
These classes are a powerful opportunity of self discovery. As the course is based on experience we will create active and participative classes where we will work on some of the main aspects of Tantra.
Furthermore, there will be focus on working on specific Chakras.
We will discover the joy and the importance of support and be supported, The challange is to take care of the sacred space dancing between me and my partner, and I experience the joy of giving and receiving.
In these classes we will keep on working on many asanas of the kaula tantra yoga serie, using the approach of tantric wisdom, in which we will focus in presence, senses, connection, body communication and in this way we will create the dance of Shiva and Shakti.
Between Ritual and Play
These classes are an energetic training that combines improvisation, clowning, dancing, musical/rhythm work, meditation and practical shamanism, among other things.
This work is a fusion of tools and experiences that can be used in art & life. Get in touch with your inner child and intuition, develop the right side of the brain and lateral thinking, release patterns and blockings, open your ears and eyes to the present moment and to others, work in group in more effective and loving ways, and increase your creativity and artistic skills by looking at things in a completely new perspective.
The clown is an archetype that repeats its presence throughout many cosmovisions in human history – east to west, ancient and contemporary. The fool, the contrary, heyoka, etc.
Yogic walking massage
Derived fom ayurvedic wisdom this ancient foot massage was used to prepare warriors for battle as well as open the physical and energetical bodies before the Yoga practice. Working with partners its a very effective, meditative and intutive way to give and receive before the Yoga practice. The massage touches many important Marma Points as well as softening the muscles.
Karma Yoga is part of the learning process of community life. We help each other to maintain common spaces and materials, we take care of the “Pachamama” (Earth). Through karma yoga we keep in contact with the earth and its fruits as we contribute to the well being and learning of the group.
Living in the ashram enables students to focus intensively on their training, away from everyday tasks and distractions, fully immersing themselves in a process of learning and self-discovery. Students discover the joy of deeply engaging in yogic practice and lifestyle without their usual responsibilities and the busyness of daily life. A close, and energetic group environment is created to enable students to share their experience and learning process and thus collectively deepen their understanding of the yoga practice.

A letter from a former student
“Dear students, seekers, yogis,
Welcome to this yoga teacher training – more than a course, this is a one month retreat from your everyday life – a chance to connect with your inner self and to explore your being in its various aspects: body, mind and spirit.
For that, the organizing team has built a curriculum that involves meditation, various styles of yoga (tantra and kundalini), Ayurveda lectures, dance and shamanism classes. There are also special activities that you can participate in, such as the temazcal (a sweat lodge which originated with pre- Hispanic Indigenous peoples in Mesoamerica). They all are meant to take you out of your comfort zone, and bring your awareness back to yourself as a way to further explore who you are. It won’t be easy – it is likely that you will be an emotional rollercoaster this month – just breath, relax and have fun!
Indeed, this is a Tantra yoga school. Tantra has its roots in Sanskrit words, which refer to expanding our consciousness to attain liberation. This means that the focus of the course will be almost exclusively on stimulating your experience. There won’t be much theory – and please be open to accept it. If you need to write, use the little notebook that is given to record your experience. Halfway in the course you will have a feedback session to share your views and suggestions for improvement.
Finally the only thing I can advise you is to trust the process, the team and yourself. Let yourself flow, forget about the Western way of processing life which focuses on absorbing information and theories, and just enjoy developing your body intelligence. Dare to transform knowledge into wisdom by owning it!
At the first week of the course the Durga’s Tiger School Team will pass on all the bookish references you need. In the meantime, let yourself be and feel your way throughout the course, while relying on your colleagues. You, your colleagues, and the group will be your greatest teachers. So take advantage of every minute of this human oasis!
